Sindhi Cultural Day

Sindhi culture is regarded as one of the oldest cultures because of its historical, cultural and traditional significance. The culture of Sindh conveys the message of peace, harmony and unity. They celebrate every small moment with utmost cherish and this culture provides space to versatility and diversity to other religions, cultures and values. Because Sindh has been invaded by many famous empires under which different values fostered. It breeds several cultural and mystical shifts in their core values. This land has the privilege of producing many famous poets, philosophers, leaders, mystics, singers and revolutionary people who propagated supreme messages of love, tolerance and progress.

Many poets and mystics spread messages through poetry and philosophy. Their poetry reflects the richness and exuberance of culture. Latif poetry is the wonderful example of, living life only for the remembrance of God, and caring for their people. The message of Latif’s poetry is based on the cultural and historical landscape of Sindh displaying it’s richness and generous nature of the people of Sindh. However, Sachal Sarmast who was famous for his personality and writings. He writes belligerently and criticized every wrong thing which he encounters, and has command over seven languages. He was well-known for his honesty and truthfulness, and people used to describe him as “Sachu” the “righteous” because of the extraordinary artwork and personality These all poets also write on traditional places of Sindh and highlighting their significance by persevering them through their poetry.

Translation:

“I see myself going far and beyond,

In Architecture, there are various places which always get the limelight of people one is “Mohen Jo Daro” commonly known as “mound of dead” It flourished between 2500BC and 1900BC and was famous for the inventions of wheel, bricks and solid infrastructure and drainage system even during that time. However, the downfall of Mohen Jo Daro still remain unknown because of lack of research facilites and government negligence. Another interesting site is Shah Jahan mosque which was constructed in the era of Mughal empire, it is a perfect example of historical artistry and offers impressive beauty for viewers.

With the passage of time people of Sindh preserved the locations and sacred writings, they also celebrate their cultural events and traditional days. Every year the culture day is celebrated on 1st Sunday of the December with great fervour and devotion showing the richness and identity of our culture. Every person of Sindh celebrates it because through these events they have restored and preserve their supreme identity and feel proud to show their culture to the world. Various peaceful protests and organized events orchestrated to preserve the cultural values. They sing songs, arrange dances, and hold events to cherish it fully. In events Latif’s poetry sessions, dance competitions and display of ancient culture is depicted, showing the adoration of the people of Sindh for their culture.
