Barrister Gohar Rejects Link With US Bill, Vows Efforts for Founding Leader’s Release

In a recent press conference, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan categorically denied any connection of the party with a US Congressional bill about Pakistan’s political matters. He clarified that PTI had nothing to do with the proposed bill directly or indirectly, stating, “I haven’t even seen the bill, and PTI has no affiliation with it.”

He reiterated the party’s new commitment to achieving the release of its jailed founding chairman, with an assurance that “serious and concrete measures” would now be undertaken to achieve this.

Barrister Gohar also raised an eyebrow over the lack of an independent judiciary in the nation, referring to it as the “biggest hurdle to justice.” He cautioned that if the courts do not deliver, the political coalition PTI is part of may be compelled to make a collective decision.

Referring to internal party dynamics, Gohar emphasized that future conflicts and pronouncements—particularly those in the form of religious oaths—would no longer be made in public. He called on party members to observe internal machinery and be disciplined.

He also defended senior party leader Senator Azam Swati, stating that he had not made any statements deserving of disciplinary action.

Concluding the session, Barrister Gohar reiterated PTI’s commitment to democratic principles and legal processes, ensuring the party would not be reliant on any foreign country or foreign assistance.
