President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have condemned the explosion near a police van in Quetta in the strongest possible terms.

In individual remarks, they conveyed that they were very sad at the tragic loss of lives and offered their condolences to the victim families. They also prayed for the quick recovery of the injured.

President Zardari termed the attack as a senseless act, especially in the holy month of Ramadan, and that it reflects the nefarious intentions of terrorists.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif directed the authorities to treat the victims as well as possible and directed an on-the-spot inquiry to identify the perpetrator. He told that the people attempting to create unrest in Balochistan are opposed to it developing and assured that terrorism would be eradicated from the country.
